Mozart's The Impresario

At the start of the year Carson will be premiering Derrick Brown's updated production of Mozart's one-act comedy opera, "The Impresario", in the second installment of the UNT Opera's "Mad About Mozart" Director's Scenes Program. Carson will be singing the role of the young aspiring opera singer, Ms. Silberklang, who sings and fights (literally) her way to the top of the playbill. Dialogue will be spoken in English, but sung in German. This production is directed by Derrick Brown and musically directed and played by Dr. Miao-Miao Wang.

Kurt Weill's Street Scene

February 22-24, 2018 at 7pm, February 25 at 3pm

Lyric Theatre in the Murchison Performing Arts Center

Denton, TX, USA

Carson can be seen as the Salvation Army Girl and a member of the ensemble in the UNT Opera's production of Kurt Weill's Street Scene. This crossover opera is based on the Elmer Rice play by the same name that illustrates a snapshot into the lives of characters living in Manhattan tenements during the hot summer of 1946. This opera will be directed by Jonathan Eaton and conducted by Stephen Dubberly.

Frisco community Band Winter Concert

Carson will be returning to her hometown to join the accomplished Frisco Community Band for their annual Winter Concert. She will be singing Schubert's "Ave Maria" and and an arrangement of "Greensleeves" under the baton of Dr. Daryl Trent.

Eastern European Recital Tour

Summer 2018

Czech Republic and Albania

Carson Dorsey (soprano) and Paola Rapaj (pianist) are in the process of curating a recital program dedicated to featuring contemporary Eastern European composers. Both performers are apart of the same multi-cultural family and seek to celebrate new composers that represent the different cultures that have become a part of their lives, namely Czech, Albanian and American. Currently, they are in the process of booking venues and raising funds for this project to be performed throughout the Czech Republic and Albania in July-August of 2018. An Enchanted Evening

Carson was one of four young musicians selected to sing in a scholarship concert presented by the Opera Club of The Villages under the musical direction of Bill Doherty of Central Florida Lyric Opera. Carson sang some opera favorites and musical theatre classics to a record-breaking audience of nearly 500.

Mozart's Cosi Fan Tutte

This was Carson's second appearance with the Fillmore Studio Company. She played the role of Despina in Molly Fillmore's updated and athletic version of Mozart's classic comedy. This was a family friendly abridged version with recitative as English dialogue, with music sung in the original Italian.

Mozart's The Magic Flute

This was the inaugural production of the locally established Fillmore Studio Company by the grammy-winning operatic soprano, Molly Fillmore. Carson sang the role of the First Lady in a full production of Mozart's fantastical singspiel with spoken dialogue in English and music sung in German.

Jindrichuv Hradec Simfoni Orkestra Letni Koncert

June 22, 2014 at 7pm

Jindrichuv Hradec, Czech Republic

Carson made her international debut as a featured soloist with the Jindrichuv Hradec Simfoni Orkestra in their summer concert series, conducted by Mario Rapaj. She sang American literature classics, including works by Bernstein and Gershwin. She also premiered and orchestral arrangement of the contemporary Albanian composer, Pirro Cako's "Nostalgie".
